How eDPI works in CS2
CS2 uses the same sensitivity model as classic Counter-Strike: your in-game sens multiplies the raw mouse input, and the result is scaled by a fixed yaw value. eDPI compresses your setup into one comparable number:
CS2 eDPI = Mouse DPI × CS2 Sensitivity Worked example
You play at 800 DPI with a CS2 sensitivity of 1.1:
800 × 1.1 = 880 eDPI
880 eDPI is squarely in the pro average band — similar to what many tournament riflers use. At 400 DPI you'd need a sensitivity of 2.2 to land on the same 880 eDPI.
Typical CS2 eDPI ranges
- 600–900 — low; precision-focused, popular with AWPers who hold long angles.
- 900–1200 — the pro average band for riflers.
- 1200–1600 — high; aggressive entry styles, faster clearing.
- 1600+ — very high; uncommon at the top level.
Common mistakes
- Assuming zoom sensitivity multiplies eDPI. AWP/scoped sens is a separate
setting (
zoom_sensitivity_ratio); this calculator covers hipfire only. - Switching between raw input on/off. Keep raw input on so Windows pointer speed can't distort your muscle memory.

What eDPI do CS2 pros use?
Most pros cluster between roughly 800 and 1200 eDPI, with AWPers often lower. There is no "best" value — consistency beats chasing a number.
Is CS2 sens the same as CS:GO sens?
Yes — CS2 kept the same sensitivity scaling, so your old CS:GO values carry over directly.
